Project Overview
This project involves the preparation of Initial Project Reports (IPRs) for the conservation and site development of state-protected monuments across Rajasthan. The scope focuses on establishing a strategic framework for conservation planning, prioritization, and fund allocation, supported by preliminary design proposals and cost estimates. Key sites under this project include Machchkund and Purani Chavani (Dholpur), Ratan Bihari Temple (Bikaner), Shahbad Fort, Gagron Fort (Jhalawar), Nahargarh Fort, Deeg Fort Palace Museum, and heritage structures in Machari, including a hill fort, Barai Mata Mandir, and a historic well.
Role, Responsibilities & Outcome
As Heritage Team Leads, our role involved directing the documentation and assessment processes across multiple heritage sites, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their historical, architectural, and structural significance. The scope included detailed architectural documentation, identification of historic and non-historic materials, and analysis of structural evolution through on-site investigations and archival research. Condition mapping was undertaken to record deterioration patterns and inform conservation priorities. Based on these assessments, preliminary conservation and site development proposals were prepared, along with indicative cost estimates to support funding and implementation strategies. Through this process, the project established a structured and informed foundation for future conservation interventions, enabling systematic preservation and sustainable development of Rajasthan’s protected heritage assets.
